Neighbors Eden Project

Neighbors Eden Project (NEP) is a volunteer-led initiative restoring dignity, safety, and connection for elderly and disabled neighbors in Midland, Texas. What began as simple yard work has grown into a consistent, community-driven effort that addresses a very real gap by helping those who can no longer maintain their homes on their own.

Each week, volunteers show up to mow, trim, clear debris, and restore outdoor spaces that have often gone unmanaged due to age or physical limitations. For many of the neighbors served, this is not just about appearance. It is about safety, peace of mind, and the ability to remain in their homes with dignity.

What sets NEP apart is how the work gets done. The organization is 100% volunteer-powered, with no paid crews, just people choosing to show up and serve. At the center of that effort is the Youth in Action program, where students do more than volunteer. They take responsibility, work as a team, and learn what it means to follow through. They are not being taught service in theory. They are practicing it every week.
