For more than 100 years, volunteers in every corner of our region have provided hope and comfort to their neighbors in crisis. Volunteers in our community carry out 90% of the humanitarian work for the Red Cross and help us to provide services such as:
• Disaster Preparedness Education: Teaching everyone, including youth, how to prepare and respond to disaster.
• Disaster Relief: Providing shelter, food, and mental health services to those affected by disasters ranging from home fires to hurricanes.
• CPR and First Aid Training: Providing basic live saving health and safety training to all community members.
• Restoring Family Links: Internationally helping people to find their loved ones after a crisis.
• Service to the Armed Forces: Helping military members, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service.
• Employee Community Engagement: Offering volunteer opportunities to organizations who want to get involved in their communities.
• Live Saving Blood: Hosting blood drives conducted by the North Texas Region.
• Home Fire Campaign: Joining with fire departments and community groups to install free smoke alarms in at risk neighborhoods.
